From precise navigation to driverless taxis: 15th National Games embraces tech

Finding seats at the venue? One-tap precise navigation. Heading out to watch the games? Driverless ride services are available. Recently, reporters visited the Fok Ying Tung Research Institute of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Pony.ai in Nansha District, Guangzhou, to explore the high-tech applications of the 15th National Games.

Finding seats, a common headache at major sporting events, is being solved with precision during the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (collectively referred to as the Games)."Inside the venues, we're using Bluetooth-based positioning technology to help spectators locate their seats or the nearest restroom with a single tap," said a representative from Guangzhou Mesh Technology."During the Games, spectators can log into the "Guangzhou·the National Games" mini program or scan a QR code on-site to access real-time indoor navigation at select venues."

During the Games, another innovation is a micro-nano scale passive-cooling coating that will be applied to the exterior walls of nearly 100 city volunteer service stations across the city. Acting like a "sun-proof cooling jacket", this special paint reflects sunlight and radiates heat away, lowering the exterior temperature of service booths by over 15°C.

Guangzhou is also bringing autonomous mobility to the streets. Driverless taxis will operate during the Games, allowing residents and visitors to hail a ride through the "Guangzhou·the National Games"mini program.

精准找座+智能降温+无人驾驶!十五运科技感拉满

赛场找座，一键精准导航；出行观赛，无人驾驶服务……近日，记者来到广州南沙区的香港科技大学霍英东研究院和小马智行两家单位，实地采访感受十五运会高新科技。

每逢大型体育赛事，现场找座是很多观众头疼的问题。在十五运会和残特奥会上，这一问题将得到有效解决。“在体育场内，我们主要通过蓝牙技术来实现精准定位。在大赛期间，观众可以通过该技术实现一键精准导航到其座位或洗手间。”广州码石科技相关负责人介绍，“赛事举办期间，观众可以通过登录‘全运广州’小程序或现场扫描二维码进入导航页面，在部分赛事场馆实现精准导航”。

在十五运会和残特奥会期间，广州还将运用微纳米级被动式制冷涂层技术，为全市近百个城市志愿服务站提供外墙喷涂服务。据介绍，该涂料如同“防晒降温外衣”，可反射太阳光并以辐射的形式将热量排放出去，可降低服务站表面温度15℃以上。

此外，广州的无人驾驶出租车也将在十五运会和残特奥会期间穿梭在城市中。届时，市民可以登录“全运广州”小程序打车。
