China delivers ultra-deepwater suction anchors across the ocean to Brazil

Twenty-four sets of 2,000-meter-class international ultra-deepwater suction anchors, constructed at the Zhuhai Deepwater Base under China Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (COOEC), have been completed and shipped from Zhuhai, Guangdong. These suction anchors will be used in the phase II project of the Mero Oilfield in Brazil, the global giant ultra-deepwater pre-salt oilfields, marking broader recognition of China's deepest-capacity offshore oil and gas equipment manufacturing capabilities in mainstream international markets.

Each suction anchor for the project measures up to 21 meters in height and 8 meters in diameter, with a wall thickness of only 25 millimeters, a typical thin-walled, large-diameter cylindrical structure. The project team tackled multiple technical challenges and pioneered a process combining horizontal extension with vertical assembly and testing for ultra-deepwater anchors in China. By widely applying advanced technologies such as 3D scanning and measurement, they overcame issues in dimensional accuracy of large-diameter and deformation control of thin-walled structures. As a result, the anchors achieved a quality pass rate of over 99.9%, with dimensional deviations controlled within 1 millimeter per meter, reaching an advanced level in the industry.

In recent years, COOEC has continued to strengthen innovation in key technologies for deepwater oil and gas equipment. It has successfully delivered major projects such as Shenhai Yihao, the world's first 100,000-ton deep-sea, semi-submersible oil production and storage platform, and Haiji No. 2, Asia's largest deepwater jacket structure. The company has also delivered several international mega-projects, including Brazil's 350,000-ton-class floating oil-gas production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units. These achievements have helped elevate the reputation of "Made in China" in the global deepwater oil and gas equipment market, contributing to high-level international cooperation in marine energy and supporting energy development in Belt and Road partner countries.

中国造“定海神针”远销巴西

海洋石油工程股份有限公司(以下简称“海油工程”)旗下珠海深水装备制造基地承建的24套2000米级国际超深水吸力锚,在广东珠海全部交付离港,本次交付的吸力锚将应用于全球巨型盐下超深水油田——巴西梅罗(Mero)二期项目,标志着我国超深水海洋装备制造能力进一步得到国际主流市场认可。

Mero二期吸力锚最大建造单体高达21米,直径达8米,而壁厚仅为25毫米,是典型的薄壁大直径筒体结构。项目团队通过技术攻关,在国内首创超深水吸力锚卧式接长、立式总装调试建造工艺,大规模应用三维扫描测量等先进技术,解决了超大直径尺寸精度控制、超薄壁厚变形控制等诸多技术难题,实现质量合格率超过99.9%,精度偏差每米不超过1毫米,整体达到行业先进水平。

近年来,海油工程持续强化深水油气装备关键核心技术攻关,成功建成全球首座十万吨级半潜式生产储油平台“深海一号”能源站、亚洲第一深水导管架平台“海基二号”等一批国内深水油气装备,并对外交付35万吨级超大型FPSO巴西P67/P70等一批国际深水油气装备,在国际深水油气装备市场擦亮了“中国制造”名片,为推进海洋能源高水平对外合作和助力“一带一路”共建国家能源开发作出了积极贡献。
