百年五项“焕新”花溪湖畔 2026年现代五项世界锦标赛在贵阳开幕 Century-old modern pentathlon embraces new era as World Championshi

花溪湖畔，一项拥有百余年历史的奥运运动，正在贵阳呈现出新的速度与活力。

Beside Huaxi Lake, a century-old Olympic sport is finding new speed and renewed vitality in Guiyang.

8月24日晚，2026年现代五项世界锦标赛在贵阳市花溪区开幕，来自50余个国家和地区的超500名运动员汇聚贵州贵阳，在击剑、障碍、游泳以及激光跑（跑步+激光枪射击）四大竞赛单元中展开角逐。

GUIYANG, Aug. 24 — The 2026 UIPM Pentathlon World Championships opened on Monday evening beside Huaxi Lake in Guiyang, southwest China’s Guizhou Province. More than 500 athletes from over 50 countries and regions have gathered for contests spanning fencing, obstacle, swimming and the Laser Run, which combines running with laser pistol shooting.

本届世锦赛于8月24日至30日举行，是国际现代五项联盟年度最高级别赛事，也是现代五项在奥运会之外最具代表性和影响力的旗舰赛事。这是贵阳首次承办这一世界级锦标赛，也是国际现代五项联盟全新赛制正式推行后，亚洲迎来的首场核心顶级赛事。

Running from Aug. 24 to 30 in Guiyang’s Huaxi District, the championships are the highest-level annual competition organised by the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) and the sport’s flagship event outside the Olympic Games. It is the first time Guiyang has hosted the World Championships and the first flagship-level event in Asia since UIPM formally introduced its new competition format.

开幕式上，各参赛代表团依次亮相，赛事主题宣传片将花溪湖的山水之美与现代五项的速度和力量融为一体。民族乐器合奏《村乐万物》、歌舞表演《黔彩五环·五项逐光》等节目轮番上演，贵州民族文化的灵动韵律与现代竞技体育的蓬勃张力在湖畔相遇。

At the opening ceremony, delegations from around the world were welcomed into the arena before a promotional video brought together the natural beauty of Huaxi Lake and the speed and power of modern pentathlon. A folk instrumental performance titled Music of the Village and All Things and a song-and-dance production, Guizhou Colours: Chasing the Light of the Five Disciplines, blended Guizhou’s ethnic cultural traditions with the energy of international sport.

当天进行的女子、男子接力比赛，为本届世锦赛率先决出两枚金牌。

The opening day produced the first two gold medals of the championships in the women’s and men’s relays.

女子接力比赛中，白俄罗斯队在击剑、障碍、游泳和激光跑各环节保持稳定，以1351分夺得冠军；俄罗斯队以1325分获得亚军，埃及队以1302分摘得铜牌。

In the women’s relay, Belarus delivered a consistent performance across fencing, obstacle, swimming and the Laser Run to take gold with 1,351 points. Russia finished second with 1,325 points, while Egypt claimed bronze with 1,302.

男子接力的竞争更为胶着。法国队在击剑比赛中占据先机，英国组合罗斯·查尔顿和塞巴斯蒂安·福雷斯特随后在障碍项目中以43秒43排名第一，俄罗斯队则在游泳项目中游出全场最快成绩。进入决定胜负的激光跑时，英国队与俄罗斯队的出发时间仅相差1秒。

The men’s relay proved even tighter. France led after fencing before Britain’s Ross Charlton and Sebastian Forrest set the fastest time in the obstacle discipline, clocking 43.43 seconds. Russia then recorded the best swimming time of the field. Only one second separated Britain and Russia at the start of the decisive Laser Run.

奔跑、举枪、瞄准、击发，再次奔向赛道——在体能消耗与精准控制不断交替的较量中，英国组合逐渐扩大领先优势，最终以1513分夺冠。俄罗斯队以1494分获得亚军，德国队以1487分获得季军，中国队位列第六。

Run, raise the pistol, aim, fire—and race back onto the course. In a contest that repeatedly shifted between physical exertion and precision, the British pair gradually pulled away to win with 1,513 points. Russia took silver with 1,494, Germany secured bronze with 1,487, and host nation China finished sixth.

“我们都非常激动。今天很多环节都很顺利，我们也很好地发挥了彼此的优势，弥补了各自的不足。”查尔顿赛后说。福雷斯特表示，这是他第一次参加成年组接力比赛，也是第一次与查尔顿搭档，两人在激光跑射击环节的发挥帮助他们拉开了差距。

“We’re both absolutely over the moon,”Charlton said.“We both worked off each other’s strengths and weaknesses really well. We were able to complement each other during the day.”Forrest said it was his first senior relay and his first time competing alongside Charlton. Strong shooting from both athletes in the Laser Run helped the pair extend their lead.

从1912年首次进入奥运会，到如今以新面貌迈向洛杉矶2028，现代五项走过了百余年的发展历程。

From its Olympic debut in 1912 to its transformation for Los Angeles 2028, modern pentathlon has travelled through more than a century of change.

这项运动最初由击剑、游泳、马术、射击和跑步组成，旨在寻找能力最全面的运动员。随着项目改革，障碍取代马术，射击与跑步结合为激光跑，现代五项由此形成击剑、障碍、游泳和激光跑四大竞赛单元，考验的仍是五种运动能力。进入2026赛季后，游泳距离进一步缩短，激光跑增加射击轮次，比赛节奏更为紧凑，胜负也更具悬念。

Originally comprising fencing, swimming, equestrian riding, shooting and running, the sport was conceived as a test of the complete athlete. Under its latest reforms, obstacle has replaced riding, while running and shooting have been combined into the Laser Run. The result is a format featuring four competition phases but still testing five distinct athletic abilities. Further changes introduced for the 2026 season include a shorter swimming distance and an additional shooting series in the Laser Run, making the competition faster and its outcome less predictable.

“在现代五项比赛中，你很难提前猜出谁会赢。”国际现代五项联盟主席罗布·斯图尔说，前几个项目积累的优势，最终都要接受激光跑的检验，一次射击的迟疑、一次奔跑中的追赶，都可能重新改写排名。

“In our sport, you won’t be able to guess who is going to win,”UIPM President Rob Stull said. Advantages accumulated in the earlier events must ultimately be defended in the Laser Run, where a difficult shooting series or a late surge on the course can transform the standings.

在斯图尔看来，贵阳成为本届世锦赛举办地，经历了大约一年的选择过程。中国拥有深厚的体育基础和丰富的国际赛事组织经验，而贵阳的生态环境、城市气质以及赛事保障能力，使其从候选城市中脱颖而出。

According to Stull, the process that led to Guiyang being selected as host took about a year. China’s strong sporting foundations and experience in staging international competitions provided the broader context, while Guiyang’s natural environment, distinctive character and organisational capacity helped set it apart.

“我去过中国很多城市，但贵阳带给我的体验很不一样。”斯图尔说，从运动员、教练员到随队亲友，他在首个比赛日听到的几乎都是积极评价，“对我来说，最重要的是运动员的感受。运动员开心，我就开心。”

“I’ve been to China many times and visited many cities, but this is very different from anything I’ve experienced elsewhere in China,”Stull said. From athletes and coaches to accompanying family members, the feedback he received on the opening day was overwhelmingly positive.“For me, what matters is what the athletes think,”he said.“If the athletes are happy, I’m happy.”

赛事与城市的连接，早在开幕前便已展开。8月22日，部分参赛运动员和裁判代表走进多彩贵州城，参与咖啡面包周体验活动，近距离感受贵州非遗和黔味美食。抵达贵阳后，从龙洞堡国际机场旅游咨询服务中心提供的双语欢迎、多语种旅游咨询，到贵州饭店等酒店提供的住宿、餐饮和接待服务，一系列场景构成了不少国际运动员对贵州的最初印象。

The connection between the championships and the host city began even before the opening ceremony. On Aug. 22, a group of athletes and officials visited Colorful Guizhou City for its Coffee and Bread Week, where they sampled local cuisine and experienced elements of Guizhou’s intangible cultural heritage. For many international athletes, their first impressions of the province began upon arrival. Bilingual welcome videos and multilingual travel assistance were available at the tourist information centre at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, while hotels including Guizhou Hotel provided accommodation, dining and bilingual reception services.

作为赛事文旅服务保障参与方，贵旅集团还将机场服务、酒店接待、旅游线路和湖畔“五精”集市等环节相衔接，推出八条“观赛+漫游”线路，尝试把运动员和观众的赛程安排延伸为城市漫游和贵州旅行体验。对贵州而言，国际赛事带来的不仅是赛场内的关注度，也为“跟着赛事游贵州”提供了从赛事流量转化为文旅体验的新路径。

As one of the event’s tourism and hospitality partners, Guizhou Tourism Group has connected airport assistance, hotel services, travel products and the lakeside market into a broader visitor experience. Eight“watch and wander”itineraries have also been introduced, extending a day at the competition into opportunities to explore Guiyang and other parts of Guizhou. For the province, the championships offer more than attention inside the arena. They provide a practical opportunity to turn sporting interest into travel experiences and move the idea of“touring Guizhou through sporting events”from concept to reality.

赛场之外，赛事也在进一步走入城市生活。开幕期间，花溪湖公园周边设置集咖啡、非遗展示、文创产品和青少年运动体验于一体的湖畔市集。市民和游客可以近距离观看世界顶尖运动员竞逐，也可以通过互动体验认识现代五项，让一项专业度较高的奥运运动，以更可感、更亲近的方式融入城市公共空间。

The event is also becoming part of everyday urban life. Around Huaxi Lake Park, a market showcases local coffee, craft beer, cuisine, cultural and creative products, alongside youth sports activities. Residents and visitors can watch elite pentathletes compete and try selected activities themselves, bringing a highly specialised Olympic sport closer to the public.

未来几天，混合接力、男子和女子个人项目将陆续展开。从资格赛到半决赛，再到最终的冠军争夺，运动员将在不同项目之间不断切换，也将在每一次出剑、腾跃、入水、射击和奔跑中寻找通往领奖台的路径。

The mixed relay and the men’s and women’s individual competitions will follow over the coming days. From qualification to the semi-finals and finals, athletes must repeatedly shift between different physical and mental demands, searching for a route to the podium through every touch, swing, dive, shot and stride.

“奖牌之外，我希望他们还能从这里带走美好的回忆、珍贵的友谊，以及对不同国家和地区人们更深入的理解。”斯图尔说。

“Beyond medals, I want them to take home memories, friendships and a better understanding of people from around the world,”Stull said.
