On 28 July, Hainan Airlines organized a celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of the direct Brussels-Beijing flight route. Mr. Bart Vodderie, chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Belgium in Beijing, and Mr. Benjamin Pasô, vice-consul at the Embassy of Belgium in Beijing, attended the celebration.

7月28日，海南航空举行庆祝活动，纪念布鲁塞尔至北京直航航线开通20周年。比利时驻华大使馆临时代办傅翔鹰（Bart Vodderie）先生以及比利时驻华大使馆副领事潘致明（Benjamin Pasô）先生出席了这次活动。

The route between Brussels and Beijing was the first direct air link between Belgium and China. Over the past twenty years, hundreds of thousands of tourists, students, businesspeople, government officials, artists, and many others have travelled on this flight connecting the capitals of both countries. Hainan Airlines currently operates the route on a daily basis and also offers flights to Brussels from Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Chongqing.

海南航空的布鲁塞尔至北京这条航线是比利时与中国之间开通的首条直航航线。二十年来，数十万名游客、留学生、商务人士、政府官员、艺术家以及其他各界人士乘坐这条连接两国首都的航线。目前，海南航空每日运营北京至布鲁塞尔航线，同时还开通了上海、深圳和重庆至布鲁塞尔的航班。

临时代办傅翔鹰在活动上发表了精彩致辞。他强调了这条直航航线对比中关系发展的重要意义。比中两国外交关系的重要基础在于民间交流，即两国人民相互往来、了解彼此的国家和文化、交流信息与思想，并不断增进相互理解。傅馆长指出，2026年将迎来比利时与中国建交55周年。他表示，在促进这些交流方面，直航航线发挥着不可替代的重要作用，其意义无论如何强调都不为过。

Mr. Bart Vodderie delivered an inspiring speech in which he highlighted the importance of the direct air connection for relations between Belgium and China. The foundation of our diplomatic relationship is built on people-to-people exchanges: individuals travelling between the two countries, discovering each other's cultures, exchanging information and ideas, and enhancing mutual understanding. Highlighting that 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belgium and China, Mr. Vodderie stated that the importance of a direct air link in fostering these exchanges cannot be overstated.

傅馆长对海南航空长期以来持续服务布鲁塞尔机场表示诚挚感谢，并表示希望海南航空与比利时之间良好的合作关系在未来多年继续巩固和发展。他还向布鲁塞尔至北京航线开通20周年致以衷心祝贺。

Mr. Vodderie expressed his gratitude to Hainan Airlines for its continued commitment to Brussels Airport and voiced his hope that the strong cooperation between the airline and Belgium would continue for many years to come. He also extended his heartfelt congratulations on the 20th anniversary of the Brussels-Beijing route.
